Powerful Peptides - BPC-157

For the purposes of getting straight to the point, Peptides are a sequence of amino acids. The use of Peptides, is a fascinating medical breakthrough for patients who are interested in the benefits of optimized health including, fat loss and anti-catabolic muscle tissue enhancement, anti-aging, immune health, gut healing, cardiovascular and neuroprotective health, and various types of tissue repair, including rapid connective tissue injury rehabilitation and post-surgery recovery.

When it comes to exercise, especially, if you've been at it long enough, chances are you're experienced some type of connective tissue injury. Whether it's a strain, sprain or tear, injuring our muscles or tendons can wreak havoc on our ability to continue exercise or at least be pain free.  If you're the type of person who loves to stay active and cannot stand having an injury hold you back, here comes the Powerful Peptide, BPC-157 to the rescue!

BPC-157 is a peptide that confers cellular protection and healing properties upon those who ingest it. Comprised of 15 amino acids, BPC 157 is named after the body protection compound that was first discovered and subsequently isolated from human gastric fluid. Initial experiments with BPC 157 showed that it was capable of accelerating the healing of a variety of wounds, including the Achille’s tendon. This is a key finding, as BPC-157 may have therapeutic applications in sports injuries, where tendons are frequently injured.

A study conducted in 2011 showed that BPC-157 markedly increased the migration of tendon fibroblasts in a dose dependent manner. Fibroblasts are biological cells which synthesize collagen, produce the structural framework for human tissues and promote wound healing.

Another study conducted in 2015 elucidated the therapeutic role of topically applied BPC-157 in the context of burn wounds. Alkali burns were treated with BPC-157 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression in wounded skin tissue was promoted as a result. VEGF is a compound that is responsible for angiogenesis; that is the formation of new blood vessels – this process is critical in effective wound healing.

Other than tendon and burns healing, BPC-157 has also successfully demonstrated its potency in treating muscular injuries. BPC-157 can accelerate post-injury muscle healing and restore full function, as evidenced by a study conducted in 2008 on transected quadriceps muscles.
